Denmark stunned Canada with a 2-1 victory in the quarterfinals Thursday after scoring a pair of goals in the final three minutes.

Nikolaj Ehlers tied it up at the 17:43 mark of the third before Nick Olesen scored arguably the biggest goal in Danish hockey history with 49 seconds left in regulation.

This is the first time in the tournament's history that Denmark has advanced to the final four. It'll play Switzerland in the semifinals Saturday, while Sweden will face the United States.

Frederik Dichow was sensational in the Danish net, stopping 39 of 40 shots from a Canadian roster led by Sidney Crosby, Nathan MacKinnon, and several other NHL stars. Canada went 6-0-1-0 during the preliminary round.

Canada's elimination officially spells the end of Marc-Andre Fleury's career. He didn't play Thursday, but a victory at this tournament would've earned Fleury a spot in the elusive Triple Gold Club.

Ehlers is the only active NHLer on the Danish team. He ed late after his Winnipeg Jets were eliminated in Round 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
