Magic unveil rebrand with new logo, jerseys
The Orlando Magic unveiled a rebrand Tuesday that consists of a new logo and three new jerseys.
The franchise reverted back to the star design from its early days after steering away from it in 2010.
"The logo evolves with a nod towards nostalgia featuring a legendary, star-centric logo displaying a 'reach for the stars' mentality to match the team's championship ideals," the team wrote in a press release.
Orlando hasn't changed its look in over a decade but now boasts an updated brand for the young core of Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner, and Jalen Suggs.
"The Orlando Magic's mission is to be world champions on and off the court," Magic executive vice president of marketing and social responsibility Shelly Wilkes said. "The logo and uniforms are an extension of that mission and a direct reflection of the excellence our organization strives for from our ownership to our staff, coaches and players.
"Based on fan , the new logo was a collaboration and really a labor of love keeping in mind the affinity our fans have for our brand identity. This logo and new uniforms signify the beginning of a new era of excellence for the Magic while paying homage to the past. We are excited to build upon our rich history with a modernized version of the uniform and logo that our fan base cherishes."
The Magic finished seventh in the East at 41-41 this past season. They made it out of the play-in tournament but fell to the Boston Celtics in Round 1.
